Freedom Lost
by Mark A. Handy Southern Arizona Authors
(Page Publishing, Inc., $14.95)
Arizona Star, April 2, 2016
Having won the U.S. Presidency in a three-party run, sleazy former- industrialist Lawrence Lording has suspended the Constitution and eliminated Congress. The United States has become a dictatorship. When a group of Southern Arizonans takes a stand against him at Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon mountains, Lording retaliates with a tactical nuclear weapon. Only one man survives the attack—Mason William (aka “Grizz”) Wallace, who sets out to avenge the deaths of his friends and spark a rebellion nationwide. Wallace heads to Chicago, where he’s heard there’s an underground movement. Mark A. Handy’s debut novel is fast-paced and well dramatized. With the president’s rescinding of individual rights, it could also satisfy the wildest expectations of conspiracy theorists.
Great read
I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and entertaining. The author sets a great pace for the story and tells us just enough information to keep us intrigued with the story line, which is action packed. This is a good read and worth your time. – TL
American Patriots focus on the now.
Citizens of America pay attention! Although Mark Handy’s “Freedom Lost” is fictional…it still hits the nail on the head as to what is and has actually happened in America today. Heads up Patriots! After this read, take a good look at what has been hidden from the public in our real world. Mr. Handy has presented an excellent depiction of the state of affairs right here in this country. Situations written in “Freedom Lost” in many ways has already arrived. although this story is fiction it is still a great read to begin to wake up our nation. (Money is not the only evil. Government secrecy and hidden agendas are right up there too.) I for one enjoyed this book immensely…can’t wait for the sequels! – JR
There is always hope while there are still patriots and defenders of the Constitution.
This is a well written story about grass roots revolution against government control over the people. I enjoyed the character development, and also the location used at the Cochise Stronghold. Since I am from Arizona, I enjoyed all the descriptions of the Stronghold and surrounding area. Since this book has an open ending, I look forward to the possibility of another book with the same story-line. I hope this new author will use more detailed descriptions of the places in Arizona I know and love. – JW
